Child friendly websites
Here is a good list of child friendly websites that I trust and reccomend for kids.
Work From Home Opportunities - not Scams.
My very first word of advice is never to pay to work from
home. With the exception of the membership sites listed here - if you
have to pay to work from home (IE: buy supplies to stuff envelopes) it is
POSITIVELY a scam. Employers do not charge their employees to work
from home. Clients do not charge their contractors to work from
home. If someone requests money up front - run away.
Quickly.
Team Double-Click
Team Double-Click offers opportunities for administrative work.
Positions range from general assistance to network marketing. TDC is a
Virtual Assistance Staffing Firm, which means they will facilitate the
relationship between you and your client. They do the billing, they find
the clients. You simply do the work. You do have to pass their
testing and screening process, and do have to turn in reports of accontability
of hours to your client and TDC - but it is valid work, and good work at
that.
E-Lance(membership site)
For a small monthly fee, you pay e-lance to be a member. You are able
to post your resume and create a profile, as well as submit proposals to
prospective clients. E-lance takes a portion of your fee to manage
administrative and billing costs.
O-desk(membership site)
O-desk is a lot like E-lance in that you pay a montly membership fee and are
able to submit proposals to their clients for work. They also take a
portion of your fee to manage administrative costs.
Alpine Acess
Alpine Access is a work from home opportunity where you answer inbound phone calls for various companies such as the Home Shopping Network, and other customer service based positions. No fee is required to register, but special phone equipment may be required.
Live Ops
Live Ops hires independent work from home agents to answer phones and do customer service for their clients. You schedule your time in 30 minute blocks - and are basically on call for that period. You only get paid for the time you are on the phone, but can schedule your own shifts.
Craigslist
You can always post your resume on Craigslist, and apply to positions listed in your area. Please use caution when putting your information out there - as Craigslist has no oversight, and anyone can be viewing your information. Also use your best judgement in responding to work at home ads. (see the note above this heading for more details.) For words of advice on writing your resume, click here
